Machinery Agents and Distributors

Upon completion of the install, Merritts will liaise with the customer to ensure all agreed aspects of the project have been delivered. The machinery will be inspected, and if satisfactory, the works will be signed off by the customer. If required, Merritts can also assist the manufacturer’s engineers with the final commissioning of the machinery.

Merritts will offload the machinery from transport and move it into the facility. Machinery will be positioned in the required location, bolted down, aligned and levelled. Merritts engineering team will complete the mechanical and electrical aspects of the install and testing will be carried out prior to commissioning. A Merritts Foreman will be appointed for the project duration.

We collect the machinery from its current location and deliver in curtain sided transport to the new destination, ensuring all traffic permits and regulatory requirements have been met. If the receiving facility is not yet prepared for the installation, or the machine has been purchased from abroad, we can also provide storage or HMRC approved bonded warehousing to help defer duty payments.

Following the consultation, we cost and plan your project. We’ll liaise with you and your client to discuss timescales, traffic movements, access requirements, floor preparation and any other specific arrangements which may also include working out of hours. Once agreed, we prepare all necessary paperwork including method statement, risk assessments and lifting plans.

An initial meeting will be held to discuss the requirements of the project. Included in our proposal, and depending on our prior knowledge of each location, will be site visits to assess the complexities of the project, particularly if transport involves importing to the UK from overseas, or multiple UK destinations. Provision of a bonded storage area can also be discussed.
