The newly acquired Scania S560 features a powerful 13-litre engine and boasts superior drivability. Thorough testing has shown that the Scania S560 displays unparalleled fuel efficiency in comparison to similar trucks. The truck is equipped with SCR emissions-reducing technology and is ready to meet even the toughest emissions regulations. This aligns with Merritts’ focus on sustainable practices in machinery transportation.

The vehicle has been customised to provide versatile lifting and transport options and incorporates the following features:

  • Powerful remote controlled Fassi F545 crane with a lifting capacity up to 54Tm, and 5 extensions providing a reach of over 12m.
  • Automatic sliding roof for protecting machinery from the elements and offering a more efficient solution than standard sheeting methods.
  • Emtech 3 axle drawbar trailer for enhanced machinery moving capacity.
  • Multiple toolboxes for essential tool and tackle requirements.

For over 100 years, Merritts has consistently invested in its fleet to maintain a standard of excellence, ensuring access to industry-leading equipment for the safe transport and installation of heavy machinery. This latest addition enables Merritts to continue meeting the specialised requirements of machinery manufacturers, agents, distributors, and industrial firms.

James Merritt, co-owner, commented on the investment: “In the past year, we’ve seen a significant increase in enquiries, driving a higher demand for specialised lifting equipment and transport solutions. Ongoing investment in the latest technology is a core part of our strategy, allowing us to uphold the professional image of our clients when handling and installing their machinery.”

This new acquisition enhances the capabilities of Merritts’ transport fleet, which already includes a range of low loaders, curtain siders, flat trailers, 3 and 4-axle semi-low loaders, and various lorry-mounted crane options.
