Merritts Machinery Movers have announced the appointment of Linda Skelton as the family firms’ new finance and accounts assistant.
Mrs Skelton, who joined the Merritts team in December, brings more than 20 years’ experience in finance and accounting to the role, after previously working in the banking and trade supply sectors.
As part of the role, Linda will be responsible for the credit control, payroll management, financial reporting and budget management for the company, providing additional support to the accounts department.
After beginning her career with Natwest, Linda has gone on to gain significant experience with companies based throughout the East Midlands, developing a wide range of accountancy skills in that time.
In 2006, Linda became the senior accounts administrator at a specialist crafts and hobbies supplier based in Nottinghamshire, providing support for the companies’ Financial Director.
Prior to joining the Merritts team in December 2014, Mrs Skelton also worked for a specialist trade plumbing and bathroom appliances supplier, gaining experience as the firms’ accounts and purchase ledger administrator.
The knowledge and experience that Linda has gained during her time at these companies makes her an ideal candidate for the role of finance assistant within the accounts department at Merritts.
