Merritts were appointed by DMG Mori to store, deliver, offload and position a 20Te DMG Mori NLX 6000|2000 machine at Advanced Manufacturing Ltd.
The high precision turning centre was stored temporarily at Merritts’ Nottinghamshire based storage facility before onward transit to AML’s facility in Sheffield, where they manufacture precision componentry for the aerospace, defence, and energy sectors.
Merritts services included:
- Pre-works visit at the installation site to understand the requirements of the project
- Creation of detailed lift plans, risk assessments and method statement for the project
- Receive and offload machinery from others transport at Merritts
- Place machinery into interim storage at our secure Midlands based warehouse facility
- Load to Merritts transport and deliver to AML’s facility in Sheffield
- Offload the machine with MC-580 crane, carry to the facility door, and skate into position
- Assist engineers with the levelling of the machinery
