Machinery Movement & Installation at Warrington Fire

Heavy Machinery Moving | Warrington Fire

Warrington Fire is a leading provider of fire safety testing and certification services. Their facilities require highly specialised infrastructure, including large-scale ventilation systems, to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Project Scope

Our team was commissioned to move and install an industrial fan unit and flue sections at Warrington Fire’s site. The project demanded precision handling of heavy equipment, careful site management, and the use of specialist lifting solutions.

  • Duration: 5 days
  • Location: Warrington Fire facility
  • Scope of Work: Transport, lifting, positioning, and installation of a fan unit, base, and flue sections

Our Approach

From the outset, our focus was on safety, efficiency, and minimal disruption to the client’s operations. A detailed lifting and movement plan was developed to coordinate each stage of the works.

Key considerations included:

  • Ensuring safe handling of oversized and heavy units within restricted site access areas
  • Protecting existing floor surfaces to maintain facility integrity
  • Using the most suitable lifting technology for confined indoor and outdoor manoeuvres

Specialist Equipment Utilised

To carry out the works, we deployed a combination of specialist lifting and movement equipment:

  • Low Mast 7-tonne Rated Forklift Truck
Used for controlled lifting and placement of items where overhead restrictions were present.
  • MC100 Pick & Carry Crane (Remote Controlled)
Provided flexibility and precision for moving flue sections into position, particularly in areas with limited access.
  • Crane Lorry
Deployed externally to lift and position ducting and support structures in place.
  • Trackway Panels
Installed to safeguard floor surfaces against potential damage from machinery movements.

Execution

Over the 5-day period, our team:

  • Delivered and set up lifting equipment on-site.
  • Laid trackway panels to establish safe movement routes and protect flooring.
  • Lifted, moved, and accurately positioned the industrial fan unit.
  • Installed and secured flue sections, coordinating with client site staff to align with existing infrastructure.
  • Completed all works within the planned timeframe, ensuring a clean and safe handover.

Outcome

The project was completed on schedule and without incident, with all machinery fully installed and commissioned in line with Warrington Fire’s requirements. By combining our technical expertise, specialist equipment, and strong safety culture, we delivered a smooth installation that reinforced our reputation for precision in heavy machinery movement.
