Installation of SEYI Presses

Heavy machinery moving specialists, Joseph Merritt Group were appointed to transport and install two SEYI Presses on behalf of PressCare UK.

The SLG2-400-S5 presses were being installed at the Ideal Boilers factory in Hull, East Yorkshire. Ideal Boilers has over 100 years of providing the best quality boilers to it’s customers while continually working to meet ever-changing heating needs into the domestic and commercial heating markets.

Presscare UK is based in Walsall and specialises in the design and integration of machine control and safety systems and is the UK Agent and EU technical representative for the SEYI press manufacturing group, based in Taiwan.

The packaged machines arrived in the UK on 8 flat rack trailers. Merritts collected the trailers from docks and delivered by road to the Hull site. The cases were offloaded from transport using a Versa-Lift 60/80 forklift and the flat rack trailers were restituted to the docks.

Each machine was carefully unpacked and moved into the facility using Versa-Lift forklift trucks and machinery moving skates. An Enerpac Superlift hydraulic lifting gantry was assembled and used to lift and position the press base sections into the machine pits. The side frames, slide sections and crowns were lifted and manoeuvred into position with Versa-Lifts. Presscare engineers carried out the commissioning of the presses.
