We can offer Low loaders with lorry mounted cranage (up to 26Te lift and carry capability), flat and covered transport, Versalift high capacity compact lift trucks (pick and carry up to 27Te) for lifting of print heads/units and a large fleet of seven Tonne rated trucks for general moving.
When it comes to the installation, Merritts machine movers are able to offer everything from handling and transport services through to the provision of engineers to assist your commissioning engineers. This can be a significant cost saving on longer installations and also allows the OEM engineers to be free to concentrate on more lucrative service work. During 2008, Merritts expanded our services to provide Export Packing and Shipping services. We are now able to remove equipment from a customer site, transport to our warehouse facility and arrange for the equipment to be packed to any specification and shipped to any destination in the world.
OEM Customers can also expect a service that is second to none. Each client will receive a Director level contact who is available seven days a week to answer any queries.
Regarding flexibility, Merritts are able to operate out of standard working hours and can accommodate night and shift working as well as weekends for moves that are time and/or production sensitive.
When working with print machinery, Merritts have worked alongside many of the major manufacturers and are able to take on complete recommissioning packages if required.

“ Machines are typically collected from the client's designated stores by Merritts and are then held overnight at our warehouse facilities before onward transit to customer premises. A suitable vehicle is chosen to suit the model of machine, available options include: rigid and articulated crane lorries, low loaders and euro liners. Alternatively machines may be delivered direct from the client's manufacturing plants in Germany by a European haulier. Specialist lifting tackle and gantries are collected simultaneously from their UK premises by one of our transit pick ups or crane lorries.
Machines are off loaded and lifted from timber bases. These are later disposed of by Merritts at an approved recycling centre on the company’s behalf. A variety of lifting methods may be employed ranging from lorry mounted cranes, to lift trucks or specialist Versa lifts.
Merritts personnel then work alongside the client’s installation engineers to dock and position the machines ready for final commission.”
