New Look for Merritts' Fleet
Following on from last year's rebranding programme, we are now proud to unveil our new vehicle livery. The new red,black and silver scheme will be introduced in phases replacing the red,green and gold colours which have been synonymous with the Merritt name for over 50 years.
Transport Apprenticeship
James Armstrong, aged 17, has been employed by our Operations Department as a Transport Office Junior. To provide James with the necessary skills and experience to organise road transport operations, he has been enrolled on a Skills For Logistics Apprenticeship incorporating NVQ Level 2 in Traffic Office. The scheme will form part of a comprehensive 2 year training program for James who we hope will remain with Merritts for the foreseeable future.
Expansion Plans
Following increased customer demand for buffer and long term storage, Merritts announce plans for expansion. Directors intend to increase warehouse space with the purchase of additional warehouse units and office facilities. A local site has been identified and planned completion is imminent. This will significantly increase storage area for customers and will provide facilities for expansion of both transport and training divisions. Watch this space for further updates.
Investment for 2008
Confirmation has been received from the Directors of a planned £1million investment in fleet and plant over the next six months. The investment will significantly increase operational capabilities with the addition of up to 4 new tractors unit and crane trailers, 2 versalifts and 5 engineers vans.
Merritts Anniversary Makeover
In 2007 we celebrated our 85th year in business. In recognition of this anniversary a major rebranding programme was undertaken which included the introduction of a new logo and corporate colour scheme. The rebranding has been launched with a new brochure, website, workwear and van livery. Watch this space for a preview of our new lorry livery.

Introducing CNC Commissioning Services
Our most recent new starter is Darrell Marshall. Darrell brings to the company a wealth of experience in CNC machine tool engineering. Having worked as Machine Shop Manager is a precision engineering company for 18 years, Darrell's skills will enable Merritts to provide specialist commissioning and decommissioning of CNC machining centres.
