Merritts Machinery Movers, which currently operates from Kirkby in Ashfield has 46 members of staff and provides specialist machinery transport, installation, engineering, storage and industrial training services.

The accreditation means that the company will now be able to share their capabilities in key business areas, such as health and safety and compliance through a comprehensive online platform.

Darren Hardy, Merritts’ Marketing Manager, explains: “We are very pleased with the impact Achilles has had on our business. Since joining we have gained numerous key clients within the utilities sector which in turn has helped us increase our annual turnover.”

Achilles UVDB is currently used by more than 1000 buyers from more than 40 of the UK’s leading utilities companies to find suitably qualified suppliers.

Achilles works to ensure that all suppliers’ information is accurate through data validation and through desktop and physical audits.

Several organisations already use the community as an approved service for the tendering process, particularly for contracts above and below the the current EU thresholds, allowing for a more streamlined procurement process.

Tom Grand, Regional Director for Achilles in the UK and Ireland, said: “By joining the biggest utilities supply chain risk management community in the UK, Merritts has put itself in the best position to be considered for work with UK utility buyers.”

Merritts are leading specialists in machinery lifting, transportation, installation, removal and storage of manufacturing machinery and production equipment.

We can also offer extensive industrial training services for companies or individuals at our East Midlands site.
