Our Transport Department works closely with the client to ensure our installation personnel gain an in-depth knowledge of each machine in their range. The service package includes the following elements:
- Collection of machine from distributor docks
- Receipt into Merritts Industrial Storage Facility
- Transportation of machine to customer site
- Machine lifting and positioning
- Leveling and securing prior to commission
- Assist manufacturers engineers with assembly of machines and parts
As a demonstration of our unparalleled loyalty, each client is assigned a Director level contact who will act as your account manager and will oversee all pricing, operational arrangements and will ensure that all projects are completed as planned.
Regards flexibility, Merritts are able to operate out of standard working hours and can accommodate night and shift working as well as weekends for moves that are time and/or production sensitive.
The past five years has seen an investment of nearly £5m in state of the art crane lorry vehicles and machine installation equipment. “ Machines are typically collected from the client's designated stores by Merritts and are then held overnight at our warehouse facilities before onward transit to customer premises. A suitable vehicle is chosen to suit the model of machine, available options include: rigid and articulated crane lorries, low loaders and euro liners. Alternatively machines may be delivered direct from the client's manufacturing plants in Germany by a European haulier. Specialist lifting tackle and gantries are collected simultaneously from their UK premises by one of our transit pick ups or crane lorries.
Machines are off loaded and lifted from timber bases. These are later disposed of by Merritts at an approved recycling centre on the company's behalf. A variety of lifting methods may be employed ranging from lorry mounted cranes, to lift trucks or specialist Versa lifts.
Merritts personnel then work alongside the client's installation engineers to dock and position the machines ready for final commission.”
