Lifting & Handling Equipment

Our inventory of specialist plant and equipment provides a workable solution to every machine moving scenario.  All equipment is subject to stringent maintenance and testing procedures.

  • heavy duty lift trucks

  • versalifts (lift capacity up to 27 Te)

  • mobile elevating work platforms

  • ground moving equipment (jacks, skates...)

  • lifting beams and frames

  • rigging accessories (slings, shackles...)

Versa Lifts

Versa Lift lifting equipment currently dominates the Machinery Moving and Installation market. The trucks operate on a moving counterweight principle allowing the truck to be up to fifty percent smaller than trucks using conventional static counterweight technology. When lifting a load, the counterweight will extend either automatically or manually to provide the desired amount of counterweight in order for the truck to remain stable. This enables the truck to lift extremely heavy items either with the standard forks or by the use of a specially designed jib attachment while remaining compact therefore aiding transport and manoeuvrability. It also allows the truck to access areas that would not be accessible by conventional lifting equipment such as mobile or lorry mounted cranes.

Lorry Mounted Cranes
A crane mounted on a truck carrier provides the mobility for this type of crane. When working on site, outriggers are extended horizontally from the chassis then vertically to level and stabilise the crane while stationary and hoisting. Many lorry mounted cranes have slow-travelling capability (a few miles per hour) while suspending a load. Great care must be taken not to swing the load sideways from the direction of travel, as most anti-tipping stability then lies in the stiffness of the chassis suspension. Most cranes of this type also have moving counterweights for stabilisation beyond that provided by the outriggers. Loads suspended directly aft are the most stable, since most of the weight of the crane acts as a counterweight. Factory-calculated charts (or electronic safeguards) are used by crane operators to determine the maximum safe loads for stationary (outriggered) work as well as (on-rubber) loads and travelling speeds.

Megalifts
When it comes to moving awkward or heavy plant, a Megalift is an alternative solution to traditional lifting methods. Megalifts are effective when working in confined spaces or if there are restricted floor loadings. When access is difficult, Megalifts have the versatility to set up over, under, around or adjacent to the load. Megalifts provide innovative solutions for a cost effective movement and lifting of plant equipment. Specialist hydraulic gantry systems are utilised which allow safe load raising, lowering, turning, tilting and traversing without dismantling roofs or steelwork. If you are installing, removing, constructing, dismantling, extracting, refitting, supporting or moving equipment from 2 – 400T.
