A high profile printing firm approached Merritts to manufacture timber cases for up to twenty units of dismantled offset printing machines. Each unit could weigh anywhere in the region of 2 Te. As these cases were due for export they were required to conform to ISPM15 (International Standards for Photosanitary Measures)

After conducting an on-site meeting the following day, Merritts were asked to provide a quote for manufacturing and packing the cases. Detailed drawings would be provided with the quote, outlining the loading plan structure. Time was also of the essence as Merritts had to work to strict time constraints to enable shipping within a 28 day period.

As the time schedule was so tight, Merritts began immediately by swiftly sourcing the heat treated timber that would be required. The bases were constructed first so that the dismantled machinery arriving on Merritts' transport could be offloaded on to them which would aid movement around the warehouse. Merritts then continued by assembling the cases around the print machines and appropriate measures were put in place to eliminate any movement whilst in transit. At some stages of the manufacture Merritts had a dedicated team working day and night to guarantee on time completion. Exportation was fulfilled without any damage to the customer's machines.
