 Case Study:

Our highly trained jacking operator set up the 200Te Megalift system whilst the rigging team attached all lifting equipment.  The 78Te engine was lifted and our 5 axle trailer positioned underneath. Careful attention was taken to lower the engine precisely on to the trailer. We then transported the engine to its new location and proceeded with reinstallation.

The Megalift hydraulic gantry system is a lifting solution for lifting operations in confined areas. However, the system also has the advantage against a crane of similar capacity due to its compactness and operational costs. The system can be used from a simple lift in a building with low headroom to the lifting and carrying of large loads using a variety of track options. Merritts are able to combine heavy turntables, skid systems and side shift capabilities for advanced and precise handling during innovative lifting operations with the integration of our machinery handling department. The system is easily transported and quickly rigged.

Safety Requirements:

To ensure the safe lifting, removal and reinstallation of the engine, we submitted full risk assessments, method statements and lifting plans. This is in accordance with our stringent Health and Safety Policies.
